LOCAL OUTREACH MEETING TO DISCUSS END-OF-CYCLE ASSESSMENT FOR BYRON STATION I am writing on behalf of the Regional Administrator to offer you a meeting with staff from Region III of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. We would like to explain for you the NRC's findings from the past year's Reactor Oversight Process (ROP) at Byron Station.

The NRC uses the ROP to determine nuclear plant safety performance. We would like to answer any questions you may have about Byron Station's performance.

A public meeting to report the ROP findings to members of the local community is tentatively scheduled for April 2, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. at the Byron Station Training Center, Room 107, 4450 North German Church Road, Byron, Illinois. If you would like, I suggest we meet in advance for one hour between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at your offices or another county facility. If other local officials might be interested in attending, please let me know.
