Received the following 4-hour notification: "This 4-hour Non-Emergency notification to the NRC is being made based on a notification to

another government agency per 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi)."On Jan 28, 2010 at 16:58 PM the Control Room was notified that a crocodile was found dead

on the north end of Unit 5 in the wetlands near the cooling towers.

Inspection of the carcass

showed no signs of trauma. The cause of death appears to be due to

recent cold weather and

not causal of plant operation. The Florida Fish and Wildlife

Conservation Commission and US

Fish and Wildlife have been notified." The licensee informed the NRC Resident Inspector. Notified NRR (Endangered Species Gp)

and R2DO (Widmann) via email.
