UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION Mr. Bryan C. Hanson President and Chief Nuclear Officer Exelon Nuclear 4300 Winfield Road Warrenville, IL 60555 WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 October 2, 2015
SUBJECT:
LIMERICK GENERATING STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 -CORRECTION TO AMENDMENTS NOS. 219 AND 181 REGARDING CHANGE TO ADD NEW LIMITING CONDITIONS FOR OPERATION 3.0.5 AND 3.0.6 {TAC NOS. MF5133 AND MF5134)
Dear Mr. Hanson:
By letter dated September 15, 2015 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML 15218A501 ), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment Nos. 219 and 181 to Renewed Facility Operating License (RFOL) Nos. NPF-39 and NPF-85 for Limerick Generating Station (Limerick), Units 1 and 2, respectively, in response to your application dated November 3, 2014, as supplemented by letter dated April 14, 2015. The amendments added new Limiting Conditions for Operation 3.0.5 and 3.0.6 to the Applicability section of the Technical Specifications. Subsequent to issuance of the amendments, the NRC staff identified that license page 3 for each of the units was is error. The error appears to be the result of the NRC staff using a version of the license pages that existed prior to issuance of the recent license renewal. The specific errors were as follows:
- Limerick, Unit 1, license page 3 issued by Amendment No. 219, was missing License Condition 2.B(2). Accordingly, please replace page 3 of RFOL No. NPF-39 with the enclosed page.
- Limerick, Unit 2, license page 3, issued by Amendment No. 181, was missing License Conditions 2.B(2) and 2.B(3). In addition, the page showed License Condition 2.C(3) which should be on license page 4. Accordingly, please replace page 3 of RFOL No. NPF-85 with the enclosed page. The NRC staff regrets any inconvenience this may have caused.
