State Consultation: Request for Comments on Amendments to Sequoyah, Units 1 and 2, Operating Licenses (EPID L-2021-LLA-0145)

Good morning, The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is finalizing license amendments for Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Units 1 & 2. In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.91(b), I am notifying you of the proposed issuance of these amendments.

Please reply within 1 week if the State of Tennessee has comments on the following licensing action submitted to the NRC by Tennessee Valley Authority (the licensee): Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, License Amendment Request to Modify Approved 10 CFR 50.69 Categorization Process dated August 5, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML22055A265), as supplemented September 16, 2022 (ML22259A127). The proposed changes would modify the Sequoyah Operating Licenses to incorporate the use of the peer reviewed plant-specific Sequoyah seismic probabilistic risk assessment and fire probabilistic risk assessment models into the previously approved 10 CFR 50.69 categorization process (ML19179A135).

The associated proposed no significant hazards consideration for this amendment request was published in the Federal Register on April 19, 2022 (87 FR 23274).
