Good morning, The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is finalizing license amendments for Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Units 1 & 2. In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.91(b), I am notifying you of the proposed issuance of these amendments.

Please reply within 1 week if the State of Tennessee has comments on the following licensing action submitted to the NRC by Tennessee Valley Authority (the licensee): Application to Modify the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Unit 1 and Unit 2, Technical Specification Table 3.3.1-1, Reactor Trip System Instrumentation dated October 29, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21302A238). The proposed changes would revise the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 technical specifications to eliminate the power range neutron flux rate-high negative rate trip function and thereby reduce the potential for a shutdown transient.

The associated proposed no significant hazards consideration for this amendment request was published in the Federal Register on December 28, 2021 (86 FR 78320).
