Permanent Cessation of Operations at the UlUC Advanced TRIGA Reactor l

1 It is the decision of the University of Illinois to permanently cease operation of the UIUC Advanced TRIGA reactor effective at midnight, August 9,1998.

In accordance with 10 CFR 50.51 (b) it is understood that the license for the facility continues in effect beyond the expiration date to authorize ownership and possession of the facility until the commission notifies the University of Illinois that the license is terminated. It is also understood that in accordance with 10 CFR 50.82 (b) the University of Illinois must submit a decommissioning plan and request for termination of the license within two years of cessation of operations.
