Dear Sir:

The following is submitted to comply with 10CFR 50.54(q). .The changes to the University of Illinois Emergency Plan were made because of staffing changes and the change of status of Nuclear Engineering from a Program to a Department. The numbering sequence of the sections was changed to a consecutive number format.

The staffing changes referred to ab,ove are addressed in an amendment to the Technical Specifications of the University of Illinois Advanced

) TRIGA (R-115) and University of Illinois ,LOPRA (R-117), which we are in 5' the process of applying for at the present time. Primarity these changes include the addition of a Laboratory Director and the support of the Reactor Health Physicist from the Department of Nuclear Engineering.

The changes to the Emergency Plan have been thoroughly reviewed and approved by the Nuclear Reactor Committee. These changes to the University of Illinois Emergency Plan do not de, crease the effectiveness of the plan.
