Dear Mr. Holm:

The staff of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), has completed its review and evaluation of the University of Illinois Nuclear Reactor Laboratory (UINRL) Operator Requalification Program that was submitted on August 31,1998. The program was reviewed against the criteria in 10 CFR Part 55.

Based on its review, the staff concludes that the UINRL Operator Requalification Program meets the requirements of the regulations and is, therefore, acceptable. We request that i
