SUBJECT:

Noncompliance notification for NPDES Permit No. 2IB00011, Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station

Dear Mr. Dunlavy:

In accordance with the requirements of Part A.2 of NPDES Permit No.

2IB00011 (formerly B211*CD) for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, we wish to notify you of a recent noncompliance condition.

The oil and grease limits of the permit (15mg/l daily average, 20 mg /1 daily maximum) were exceeded at Outfall No. 604 (floor drains) on No-vember 14 and 16, 1983.

Investigations of the Turbine Building drains indicate that this was not the source of oil or grease which was exceeded at Outfall No. 604.
