Exceedence Notification for NPDES Permit No. 2IB000ll*DD; Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station
Dear Mr. Dunlavy:
In accordance with the requirements of Part III, Section 12A of NPDES Permit No. 2IB000ll*DD for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, we wish to notify you of a recent exceedsnce condition.
The Total Suspended Solids (TSS) thirty-day weighted average discharge concen-tration limitation of 30 mg/l was exceeded at outfal1~ 002 (Area Runoff) for the reporting month of July 1985. The Total Suspended Solids discharge concen-tration at Outfall 002 averaged 32 mg/l for the reporting month.
Date Outfall Parameter Analysis July, 1985 002 Total Suspended Solids 32 mg/l Toledo Edison has contracted an independent consulting firm to evaluate the collection efficiency at Outfall 002 and to determine alternatives to reduce Total Suspended Solids concentrations at the discharge of the Davis-Besse Training Center Pond. A prelininary report has been issued and recommended actions to identify potential nolutions are being implemented. Upon com-pletion of this phase, a final report listing a workable solution (s) is ex-pected.
Implementation of the solution will soon follow.
