Enclosure I PG&E Letter DCL-02-058 APRIL 2002, OPERATION SUMMARIES DIABLO CANYON POWER PLANT UNITS I AND 2 Summary of Unit 1 Operation Unit I began April in Mode 1 (Power Operation), at approximately 100 percent power.

On April 28, 2002, operators reduced power, separated the generator from the grid, and shutdown the reactor to begin the eleventh refueling outage (1R1 1), as planned.

Unit 1 ended the month in Mode 5 (Cold Shutdown).

Summary of Unit 2 Operation Unit 2 began April in Mode I at approximately 100 percent power. There were no significant operational activities.

Actuations of Safety or Pressurizer Power Operated Relief Valves There were no challenges to the pressurizer power operated relief valves, pressurizer safety valves, or steam generator safety valves.
