RE: PA DEP comments on proposed Extended Power Uprate for Peach Bottom Units 2 and 3 (TACs ME9631 & 32)

Rick, We'd like to submit the following for you to post as our comments:

"The PA DEPs Bureau of Radiation Protection (BRP) has reviewed Exelons proposed extended power uprate (EPU) amendment for an increase of approximately 12.4 percent. The BRPs review focused on potential radiological impact of Exelons proposed EPU and we have no objections to the proposed amendment. The PA DEP will continue to conduct its independent review and assessment of plant operations at the Peach Atomic Power Station during the implementation of the EPU.

Thanks, Brad From: Ennis, Rick [Rick.Ennis@nrc.gov]

Brad, Does the PA DEP have any comments on Exelons proposed extended power uprate (EPU) amendment request for Peach Bottom, Units 2 and 3, dated September 28, 2012?

The proposed amendment would authorize an increase in the maximum licensed thermal power level for Peach Bottom, Units 2 and 3, from 3514 megawatts thermal (MWt) to 3951 MWt, which is an increase of approximately 12.4 percent.

Thanks, Rick 301-415-1420
