Hi Rich,

Jack asked the question on ISG-04 because the licensee mentioned they would be meeting IEEE 7-4.3.2-2003 and not the 2016 version.

We are still considering how to sunset ISG-04.

Regards, Samir

[External_Sender] RE: Approved FPGA based Platforms

Hey Samir,

I have one other question regarding the pre-application meeting.

Jack asked a question about compliance with ISG4. Isnt ISG4 now superseded since the communications criteria has been incorporated into IEEE 7-4.3.2 and endorsed via RG 1.152?

It seems to me that ISG4 should be withdrawn from use just like ISG2 was withdrawn when its criteria were relocated to BTP 7-19. Right?

Hi Rich,

Its good to hear from you.

Yes, we recognize we have approved other FPGA-based platforms. The licensee had requested that we list the licensing actions where FPGA technology was used in an application, so we focused on the main licensing approvals where the FPGA was performing a major portion of the safety system logic. Given that the licensee already has selected an FPGA platform, we didnt see the value in listing other FPGA platforms. Sorry if I didnt make that message clear when talking about the side.

I hope all is well with you, Linda, and the kids/grandkids. I look forward to seeing you at NPEC 24-02.

Best regards, Samir

[External_Sender] Approved FPGA based Platforms

Samir,

ALS and HIPS are not the only approved FPGA based designs.

Your presentation fails to list the following approved FPGA based platforms,

RADIY HFC-FPGA NUPAC

Additionally, all microprocessor based platforms use FPGAs in their circuit board designs including NUMAC and Common Q.
