Revised Feature Selection for Independent QA Evaluation of PVNGS

Dear Mr. Van Brunt:

As a result of NRC's comments and recommendations at the presentation of the program plan for our Independent Quality Assurance Evaluation of PVNGS, during the meeting in Washington on June 29, 1982, we have revised our Tentative Feature Selection list, page 16 of the TPT presentation. A revised Feature Selection list is attached.

In order to address appropriately NRC's comments we have eliminated the Spray Chemical Storage Tank and the Refueling Water Tank, and some associated piping from the review list.

Instead we have included portions of the Auxiliary Feedwater System, viz. Condensate Storage Tank, Motor Driven Safety Class Auxiliary Feedwater Pump, and piping between Tank and Pump, and Pump and Steam Generator.

In addition we propose to review portions of the software of the Core Protection Calculator.

I have discussed these items with E. Licitra by phone, and expect NRC's response to the revised list next week.
