Dear Mr. Johnson:

As outlined in a conference call between RGGE (R. Mecredy, J.

Widay, L. Hauck, R. Teed, J. Peters) and the NRC (G. Smith, J.

Joyner, D. Limroth, E. King) on August 7, 1995, the following information has been 'included into procedure FFD-8, Rev. 4 effective 8/8/95, as additional corrective action. This revision was necessary in order to resolve a fitness for duty testing procedure deviation from our response to the NOV, Reference (a),

concerning testing for backshift personnel. Reference (b) documented the NRC Notice of Violation.

Wordin in FFD-8 Rev. 4 "If a backshift worker is selected for a random drug and alcohol test, the test will be conducted before the worker's shift ends.

Conducting the test. before the shift ends will avoid predictability in the time of testing. However, if the worker is not available, the worker will be tested during the next scheduled work shift."
