Extension of Commitment to Complete Follow-Up Actions for Generic Letter 2003-01: "Control Room Habitability" (TAC No. MB9796)Ladies and Gentlemen:

By letter dated March 31, 2006, (Serial Number 3240), the FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) submitted a final response to NRC Generic Letter 2003-01 for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station (DBNPS). In its response, FENOC committed to revise Calculations and Licensing Bases Analyses as necessary by December 31, 2006. In order to provide additional time necessary to formalize calculations and prepare associated change documentation, FENOC is revising the completion date for this commitment to May 1, 2007.As described in previously submitted final response to GL 2003-01 for DBNPS, preliminary assessments concluded that the Control Room Habitability Systems continue to meet the applicable regulatory requirements.
