Dear Ms. Garcia Santos:

In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between our agencies, on January 5, 2023, I requested that you review Japanese Certificate of Approval No. J/2043/B(U)F, dated July 29, 2022, for the JRF-90Y-950K package and make a recommendation concerning our revalidation of the package for import and export use. As you completed your acceptance review, you raised many questions and requested clarification and additional information on many sections of the safety analysis report.

Our applicants response to your questions and request for information was received and has been electronically transmitted to you and your staff. Our applicant also completed a review of items that have changed since the design was last reviewed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. That document is attached.

If you have any questions or need any additional safety information, please feel free to contact me at (202) 697-1301 or via email at rick.boyle@dot.gov.

Sincerely, Richard Digitally signed by Richard Boyle Boyle Date: 2023.03.02 16:15:39 -05'00' Richard W. Boyle, Radioactive Materials Division of Sciences and Engineering Office of Hazardous Materials Safety
