Public Hearing in SoCal on 2/12 Mr. Howell and others, I am writing to see if you would be willing to allow a short presentation from local groups, for and against the restart of San Onofre. Although the pro-nuclear side has always been thoroughly expressed by the licensee we understand that it would be important to make this opportunity for public input available to both points of view from those who live near by.

This meeting on 2/12 is the final NRC public hearing in our area before the final decision comes from the NRC.

We feel it is important to allow our side in particular the opportunity to present our case to you and the general public and the news media in a comprehensive presentation. We believe it would be appropriate in this Category 3 meeting to start off with our presentation because in the past we have been limited to short individual statements randomly selected and controlled by your moderator long after the media has left to meet deadlines for the evening news.

Please consider this request to come from over 2000 people being represented by San Clemente Green. This is our final opportunity to make our case in public in a way that has not been provided by the NRC in the past. I would be happy to share our presentation with you in advance of the meeting if that would be helpful. Ten minutes is all we ask for from your time allowance for public input at the end of the meeting. I look forward to your response.
