| The Interim Report informed NRC that an evaluation was ongoing as a result of the failure of a Lube Oil Scavenging and Fuel Oil Engine Driven Pump. The specific pump is a Viking Model GV-731-B, wherein the pump shaft sheared in two. The evaluation has determined that the failure would not have resulted in a substantial safety hazard or violate a license technical specifications safety limit. In addition to the engine driven pump, each diesel engine also operates with a redundant direct current motor driven fuel oil pump. Accordingly, this investigation is now considered closed. | | The Interim Report informed NRC that an evaluation was ongoing as a result of the failure of a Lube Oil Scavenging and Fuel Oil Engine Driven Pump. Subject:
Final Report of a Deviation or Failure to Comply +/- Lube Oil Scavenging and Fuel Oil Engine Driven Pump
Reference:
TVA letter to NRC, ³Interim Report of a Deviation or Failure to Comply +/- Lube Oil Scavenging and Fuel Oil Engine Driven Pump,' dated December 28, 2023 In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 21.21(a)(2), the Tennessee Valley Authority is submitting a final update to the Referenced report for Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SQN), Unit 2.
