The planned discharge is expected to be well within NRC release limits.

The Region III mobile laboratory it at the Fermi 2 site to perform independent measurements on the water to be released.

The principal radioactive isotopes of regulatory concern in the water being discharged are cesium-134 and -137. The concentrations are expected to be chout 10 percent of the NRC limits for these isotopes at the time of the release.

The State of Michigan and the Government of Canada were informed of the planned releases earlier in' February.~n%hp licensee briefed area news media on the planned release on February 15 and issued a news announcement on February 16. -
