There were no visible signs of injury or abnormalities and the condition of the turtle indicates that the death was recent. Therefore, the lethal take has been attributed to plant operations.

Further picture identification by the North Carolina Sea Turtle Coordinator indicates that the correct species is a Green Sea Turtle."
