Salem Generating Station Unit-1 and 2 Docket No. 50-272/50-311 Amendment to Facility Operating License License Change Request S98-11 The subject request was submitted to the NRC by PSE&G letter dated September 29, 1998. The request proposes to modify Technical Specification (TS) 3/4.9.4 Refueling Operations, Containment Building Penetrations, to allow the use of an equivalent closure device in place of the Containment Equipment Hatch inside door during refueling activities.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Nuclear Engineering has reviewed the request in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.91 (b) and has no comments.
