[External_Sender] RE: Hatch 1&2 Alternative for use of BWRVIP Guidelines - Supporting Information Date: Thursday, December 20, 2018 6:41:40 PM Structural Integrity document number 1500880.303 was completed in January 2016 and was used in the 1R27 flaw and leakage evaluation to update the inspection interval. Based on this document, three cycles of operation from 2014 for the core shroud horizontal and vertical welds examinations are acceptable. This evaluation will be updated in 2020 based on UT results, and will likely result in a 10 year interval.

It has been determined that this document contains EPRI-proprietary information. EPRI is preparing an affidavit, and is aiming to have this affidavit signed by Friday, January 4. SNC will formally transmit this SI document to the NRC shortly after the affidavit is received by EPRI.

Per our discussion on December 20, 2018, SNC will adhere to the future inspection interval as determined by inspection results and flaw/leakage evaluation(s), which will be in accordance with BWRVIP Inspection and Evaluation Guidelines. If it is determined that an exception to BWRVIP guidance is necessary, a technical justification will be performed and reported to both the BWRVIP and NRC per the requirements of the BWRVIP Inspection and Evaluation Guidelines.
