SUBJECT:

ARKANSAS NUCLEAR ONE, UNIT NO. 1 - CORRECTION TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE PAGE 3 TO AMENDMENT NO. 233 RE:

CONTAINMENT SPRAY NOZZLE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION TEST REQUIREMENTS (TAC NO. MD8310)

Dear Sir or Madam:

On July 9, 2008, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment No. 233 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-51 for the Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit No. 1 (ANO-1). The amendment consisted of changes to the facility operating licenses and the Technical Specifications (TSs) in response to your application dated March 13, 2008

The amendment revised the Surveill ance Requirement (SR) 3.6.5.8 to require verification that containment spray nozzles are unobstructed following maintenance that could result in nozzle blockage, in lieu of the current SR of performing the test every 10 years.

Due to a formatting error, the issued revised page 3 of the facility operating license for ANO-1 inadvertently shifted text in the license. This administrative error only affected page 3 of the Unit 1 license and did not impact Amendment No. 233 for ANO-1. The omission does not change the NRC staff conclusions regarding Amendment No. 233 for ANO-1. Enclosed is a corrected version of page 3 to the Unit 1 facility operating license that restores page 3 of the license. Please discard the associated page from the previous amendment and replace it with the enclosed page.

If you have any questions, please call me at 301-415-1445.

Sincerely,

/RA by Michael T. Markley for/
