9 PumpPerformance

  • Pumpexhibitssatisfactoryhydraulicperformancewithnodegradingtrend.*TSflowsurveillancerequirementsaresatisfactory.
  • VibrationmeasurementsobservedduringCycle21GroupAtestingwereelevatedyetacceptable.
  • AftertheuncouplingandrecouplingofthepumpjustpriortoRF21,thevibrationswerenotedtohavebeenreducedsignificantly,andareofthesamemagnitudeasvibrationmeasurementsrecordedduringthecomprehensivetestofRF21.10 ChangeinVibrationReadings Engineeringevaluationdeterminedthattheuncouplingandrecouplingperformedatthebeginningoftherefurbishmentattemptaffectedthevibrationreadings;however,thisisnotthemostlikelycauseoftheincreasedvibrationsidentifiedinNovember2015andthereforeEntergycannotsaythattheoriginalconditionhasbeenresolved.DuetothecircumstancespresentedbythefactthattheHPSIABpumpcouldnotberefurbished,theoriginalconditionthatcausedtheelevatedvibrationhasnotbeencorrected.

ProposedAlternative 18*ReliefwillberequestedtoallowperformanceoftheGroupAtestonaquarterlybasisinlieuoftheComprehensiveTestforthedurationofCycle22,essentiallyidenticaltothereliefgrantedforCycle21.*Datawillbeanalyzedtoensurethattheperformanceisintheexpectedrange,providingassurancethatthepumpwillcontinuetobeoperationallyreadyforthedurationofthecycle.

Closing*ExpectedsubmittaldateisJuly6,2017.*ApprovalrequestedbyFebruary3,2018toensurethatreliefisobtainedpriortothetimethattestingwouldneedtobeperformed,whichis39weeksfollowingtheprevioustestduetotheincreasedtestingfrequencyrequirement.
