NRC Mission The NRC licenses and regulates the Nation's civilian use of radioactive materials to provide reasonable assurance of adequate protection of public health and safety and to promote the common defense and security and to protect the environment.

NRC Inspection Activities Waterford Approximately 7800 hours0.0903 days <br />2.167 hours <br />0.0129 weeks <br />0.00297 months <br /> of inspection and related activities Two resident inspectors assigned for onsite inspection coverage throughout the year 15 regional inspections Entergy/Waterford operated the plant safely and in a manner that preserved the public health and safety and protected the environment

Waterford PIs and Findings January 1 through December 31, 2022 All Green Performance Indicators 14 Green / Severity Level IV inspection findings 2 White inspection findings due to issues with radiation monitor calibration

Radiation Monitor Issues Waterford Radiation monitors are used to find how much radioactive material is exiting the plant in normal and emergency conditions Some of the installed radiation monitors were incorrectly calibrated The response would be lower or higher than actual which would impact emergency actions during a significant event
