Project Background Waterford 3 CPCS Replacement

  • Replacement of existing Interdata 7/16 digital computer system with Westinghouse Common Q' platform
  • Engineering Change documented in CMISDP (EC-83843) - Approved April 2021
  • No impact to existing safety-related algorithms
  • License Amendment Request (LAR) submitted; Amendment approval/Safety Evaluation received August 2021
  • Factory Acceptance Test performed at Westinghouse testing facility July-August 2021; observed by NRC
  • Site Acceptance Testing performed at Entergy WF3 testing location; observed by NRC
  • Implementation planned for WF3 RF24, starting April 2022 2
