O RIVElt IlEND STATION NOTIFICATION OF UNUSUAL EVENT On May 17,1992 at approxima:ely 1800 with the reactor defueled, an employee sustained a head injury in the drywell. He was transported from River Bend Station to the West Feliciana Parish IIcspital. At the time he was transported, he was considered contaminated because he was workmg in a contaminated area.

Ilowever, subsequent surveys of the injured individual, ambulance and ambulance driver found no contamination.

At 1823, a Notification of Unusual Event (NOUE) was declared per Emergency implementing Procedure EIP 2-001, Emergency Action Level 17, " Transportation of overexposed or contaminated injured individual from site to hospital" when the individual was transpotted to the hospital. The NOUP *as subsequently terminated at 1855 when no contamination was found.

Notificatica to the State of Imuisiana and State of Mississippi, the five local governments within the 10 mile Emergency Planning Zone and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission incident Response Center began at 1834. Notification to the state and local governments and NRC of the termination began at 1855.
