NRC POSTS STRATEGIC PLAN ON WEB PAGE The NRC has posted its strategic plan on the agencys internet home page.

The plan contains goals to carry out NRCs mission, and strategies to meet those goals. It will serve as a comprehensive blueprint for the agencys program and budget planning and a guide to daily management and decisionmaking. The plan was provided to Congress and the Office of Management and Budget in September.

The assessment and rebaselining process provides a foundation for the agencys direction and decisionmaking for the rest of this decade and into the future.

During the process of strategic assessment, the NRC staff developed direction-setting issues for Commission consideration. Before reaching final decisions on those issues, the Commission had the benefit of comments from members of the public and other stakeholders -- those who would be most affected by those decisions -- elicited at conferences around the country and from reactions to what was posted on NRCs website.
