SUMMARY

OF OCTOBER 19, 2023, CLOSED MEETING WITH FRAMATOME INC. AND THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION FOR TOPICAL REPORT ANP-10339P, REVISION 0, ARITA - ARTEMIS/RELAP INTEGRATED TRANSIENT ANALYSIS METHODOLOGY (EPID L 2018 TOP 0034)

On October 19, 2023, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed meeting via Microsoft Teams with representatives from Framatome Inc. (Framatome). The purpose of the meeting was for the NRC staff and Framatome representatives to discuss the draft safety evaluation (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)

Accession No. ML23233A151) limitations and conditions (L&Cs) 18 and 19 for Topical Report (TR) ANP-10339P, Revision 0, ARITA - ARTEMIS/RELAP Integrated Transient Analysis Methodology. The meeting notice is available at ADAMS Accession No. ML23279A006. Other meetings were also held on May 4, 2023 (ADAMS Accession No. ML23138A162), and June 20, 2023 (ADAMS Accession No. ML23177A258) where the NRC staff and Framatome representatives discussed L&Cs 18 and 19.

During the meeting, the NRC staff and Framatome representatives discussed potential technical information that would be needed on the docket to support modifications to L&Cs 18 and 19.

The NRC staff and Framatome noted that future submittal associated with these L&Cs would be a revision to the ARITA TR or a licensing action (e.g., license amendment request). Regarding next steps, Framatome will engage the NRC staff on path forward and additional discussions if needed.
