THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSIONS REVISED SCHEDULE FOR THE REVIEW OF FRAMATOMES TOPICAL REPORT, ANP-10339P, REVISION 0, ARITA - ARTEMIS/RELAP INTEGRATED TRANSIENT ANALYSIS METHODOLOGY (EPID L-2018-TOP-0034)

Dear Mr. Peters:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff plans to revise the schedule for its review of Framatome, Inc. (Framatome) Topical Report (TR) ANP-10339P, Revision 0, ARITA - ARTEMIS/RELAP Integrated Transient Analysis Methodology (ARITA)

(Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML18242A480), submitted on August 28, 2018. By letters dated April 26, 2022 (ADAMS Accession No. ML22097A264), and October 5, 2022 (ADAMS Accession No. ML22259A001),

the NRC staff revised the ANP-10339P, Revision 0, review schedule.

Due to the complexity of the review of TR ANP-10339P, Revision 0, and resource challenges, the NRC staff plans to revise the current ANP-10339P, Revision 0, review schedule. This revised review schedule provides a new baseline for the TR ANP-10339P, Revision 0. The NRC staff plans to issue the draft safety evaluation (SE) by March 31, 2023, and final SE by June 30, 2023, as annotated in the enclosed revised schedule. Therefore, the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards subcommittee and full committee meetings will be rescheduled to May 19, 2023, and June 7, 2023, respectively.

Additionally, the NRC staff plans to provide the final list of limitations and conditions (L&Cs) to Framatome by February 24, 2023, and would be ready to have discussions during closed/open meetings or audits before the L&Cs are finalized. The NRC staff plans to finalize the list of L&Cs in the draft SE by March 10, 2023.
