SUMMARY
OF NOVEMBER 17, 2022, CLOSED HYBRID MEETING WITH FRAMATOME INC. AND THE U. S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION FOR TOPICAL REPORT, ANP-10339P, REVISION 0, ARITA - ARTEMIS/RELAP INTEGRATED TRANSIENT ANALYSIS METHODOLOGY (EPID L-2018-TOP-0034)
On November 17, 2022, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed hybrid meeting in person at NRC headquarters and via Microsoft Teams with representatives from Framatome Inc. (Framatome). The purpose of the meeting was for the NRC staff and Framatome representatives to discuss the potential limitations and conditions (L&Cs) associated with technical issues for the ANP-10339P, Revision 0, ARITA - ARTEMIS/RELAP Integrated Transient Analysis Methodology, topical report review. The meeting was noticed on October 31, 2022, and is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML22304A042.
During the meeting, the NRC staff and Framatome representatives went through all the potential L&Cs by discussing the basis, and language associated with each item. During the discussions, Framatome representatives indicated that they would like to submit additional information for NRC staff review to eliminate some of the potential L&Cs. However, there was no decision made on schedules for submission and review of the additional information. The NRC staff and Framatome representatives also discussed scheduling another interaction to continue the discussion on potential L&Cs, but there was no decision on a date for another meeting. At the conclusion of the meeting, the NRC staff and Framatome representatives discussed next steps and action items for each potential L&C. The proprietary information for the potential L&Cs including action items are described in enclosure 2.
