Mr. David Rhoades Senior Vice President Constellation Energy Generation, LLC President and Chief Nuclear Officer (CNO)

Constellation Nuclear 4300 Winfield Road Warrenville, IL 60555

SUBJECT:

REISSUE - DRESDEN NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3 -

INFORMATION REQUEST FOR AN NRC TRIENNIAL 10 CFR 50.59 (EVALUATION OF CHANGES, TESTS, AND EXPERIMENTS) BASELINE INSPECTION

Dear Mr. Rhoades:

The NRC identified that the Information Request sent to you dated March 4, 2022 (ADAMS Accession Number ML22062B052), provides an incorrect number of dates. As a result, the NRC is reissuing the letter in its entirety to correct the errors.

On July 11, 2022, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will begin a 10 CFR 50.59, (Evaluation of Changes, Tests and Experiments), baseline inspection at the Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 2 and 3. This inspection will be performed in accordance with the NRC baseline Inspection Procedure (IP) 71111.17T. The onsite dates for this inspection will be July 11-15, 2022.

Experience has shown that these baseline inspections are extremely resource intensive, both for the NRC inspectors and the licensee staff. In order to minimize the inspection impact on the site and to ensure a productive inspection for both parties, we have enclosed a request for documents needed for the inspection. These documents have been divided into two groups.

The first group of information is necessary to ensure that the inspection team is adequately prepared for the inspection. This information should be made available via electronic methods no later than May 13, 2022. The inspection team will review this information and, by May 27, 2022, will request a second group of information that should be provided for review in the regional office by June 27, 2022.

If there are any questions about the material requested or the inspection in general, please contact Mr. J. Benjamin at 630-829-9747 or Jamie.Benjamin@nrc.gov.

March 9, 2022

D. Rhoades This letter does not contain new or amended information collection requirements subject to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.). Existing information collection requirements were approved by the Office of Management and Budget, Control Number 3150-0011. The NRC may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to, a request for information or an information collection requirement unless the requesting document displays a currently valid Office of Management and Budget Control Number.

In accordance with Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Section 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).

Sincerely, Jamie Benjamin Senior Reactor Inspector Engineering Branch 2 Division of Reactor Safety Docket Nos. 05000237, 05000249 License Nos. DPR-19, DPR-25
