SUMMARY

REPORT ASSOCIATED WITH THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION STAFFS REVIEW OF THE OCONEE NUCL EAR STATION, UNITS 1, 2 AND 3, SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (EPIDNO.L-2021-SLE-0002) (DOCKET NOS. 50-269, 50-270 AND 50-287)

Dear Mr. Snider:

Pursuant to Section 51.29 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted the en vironmental scoping process and solicited public comments from August 10, 2021, to Septembe r 9, 2021. This process determined the scope of the staffs environmental review of the application for subsequent renewal of the renewed facility operating licenses for Oconee N uclear Station, Units 1, 2 and 3 (Oconee). The scoping process is the first step in the d evelopment of an Oconee-specific supplement to NUREG-1437, Generic Environmental Impact Stateme nt for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants (Agencywide Documents Access and Management Sys tem (ADAMS)

Accession Nos. ML13106A241, ML13106A242, and ML13106A244).

As part of the scoping process, the staff held a public environ mental scoping meeting via webinar on August 25, 2021, to solicit public input regarding t he scope of the environmental review. At the conclusion of the scoping process, the staff pr epared the enclosed environmental scoping summary report identifying comments received during the scoping period. In accordance with 10 CFR 51.29(b), the staff will send a copy of the scoping summary report to each participant in the scoping process.
