20242 Dear Mr. Schneider By letter dated September 26, 1967, Mr. Harold L. Price, Director of Regulation, forwarded to Mr. William P. Pecora, Director of the U. S. Geological Survey, the applications filed separately by the Department of Water and Power of the City of Los Angeles and by Southern California Edisen Company and San Diego Gas and Electric Company for authorization to construct and operate two light water-coeled and moderated type nuclear power reactors, to be known as the Bolsa Island Project.
By letters dated December 27, 1968, and October 25, 1968, respectively, the applicants have each submitted an application to withdraw their application for a Construction Permit. A copy of a related notice which has been transmitted to the Office of the Federal Register for filing and publication is enclosed for your information.
In view of the above, no further review is required by the U. S. Geological Survey on these applications.
