In accordance with the arrangements for assisting us in evaluating water surge and wave runup aspects for reactor projects located in constal areas, we would appreciate receiving comments from an appro-priate member of your staff on the information presented in the enclosed two Preliminary Safety Analysis Reports, Part B Volume 1, concerning the proposed Bolsa Island Nuclear Power and Desalting Plant.

'Ibe Department of Water and Power of the City of Los Angeles, (Docket No. 50-307) has designated its proposed nuclear reactor as the Department Unit.

Southern California Edison Company and San Diego Gas & Electric Company (Docket No. 50-308) has designated its nuclear reactor as the Edison-San Diego Unit.

As soon as we receive the additional information from the applicants which is required to complete the applications, we will forward copies to you for your use.
