k STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIbF 3 ON STATUS OF-PEACH BOTTOM, 2:00 P.M., MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 1989, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROO.M, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)

The Commission was briefed by representatives _of the Philadelphia Electric Company on the status of the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station.

Representing Philadelphia Electric Company were:

- Joseph F. Paquette, Jr.

Chairman and CEO

- Corbin A. McNeill,_Jr.

Executive Vice President - Nuclear

- Dickinson M. Smith Vice President - Peach Bottom

- John F. Franz Plant Manager - Peach Bottom The conmission requested a future briefing by both the licensee (Philadelphia Electric Company (PEco)) and the staff on the readiness to restart Peach Bottom. At that briefing, the licensee is requested to discuss:

a. PECo's restart plan for Peach Bottom (e.g., test program, self-evaluations, special training, etc.), and
b. Management challenges for 1989 (e.g., restart of Peach Bottom, Units 2 and 3, as well as reload and restart of Limerick, Units 1 and 2).

At that briefing, the staff should discuss: J

a. The results of its Integrated Assessment Team Tnspection;-
b. Any outstanding restart items that remain to be completed;
c. The ACRS views concerning readiness for Peach Bottom'to -)

restart; and
