Dear Mr. Kennedy:

I am writing to urge your action to ' discontinue the building of the P G & E nuclear reactor on Bodega Bay. Being built so close to ( l the earthquake fault, it is a very cicar danger to the citizene of l I California. I understand that geologiste can predict withopt hesitation a major earthquake within the next twenty-five years. To build the nuclear reactor the approximate thousand feet from the earthquake fault seems suicidal, and I am not willing to have my safety so completeley jeopardized by a privat.e firm for private I interests. The saf'ety of private citizens is surely an area in which 1 i a lrivate firm should have no say. And yet, P. G & E has completely l l l ignored the protests of. private citizens whose welfare is threatened 1 L by their plan, and the warning and counsel of the scientific community. Thus it seems as if the only alternative is for inter-vention by the federal government. I hope that you will seriously consider acting to prevent the p$tential of a tragic and needless accident. By the way, I was thoroughly delighted by the Test Ban Treaty, and Civil Rights Bill. I fervently hope they both get passed in their entirety (1,ncludih.... -g Tit 1'e III). ( Sincerely yours,

?
