Dear Dr. Seaborg:
hN We feel that the P.G.si E.Co.
should not bc granted permission to build a nuclear plant at Bodega Head, for the following reasons:
i i
Because it would poison the daily living i
of people with fear.of disaster.. This could go on. for years and years.... indefinitely.
A psy.chological ' burden -
l of this sort could be as harmful as physical injury..
Jo amount of soothing'words can conceal the fact that a nuclear plant bas potential dangers; nor can one' forget the fact that earthquakes and their intensities are totally unpredictable.
This installation would create, in our opinion, a most uncivilized situation for the people of Sonoma County.
1 And it notd.d be unfortunate, we think, for a Governmental agency to take sides with a privato m
monopoly against the wishes and the welfare of the Public.
The question would. undoubtedly arise in many minds:
"Where is our Democracy?"
