STATEMENT BY S. L. SIBLEY, VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER, PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY Our preliminary review of the Interior Department report reveals several areas of disagreement between the findings of the government geologists and the conclusions of inde-pendent geologic and seismologic consultants retained by PG&E to evaluate the Bodega site.

l The reports of the company's consultants will be trans-mitted to the Atomic Energy Commission shortly, at which time they will be made public.

The consultants are Dr. Don i

l Tocher, Seismologist at the University of California, Berkeley; E. C. Marliave, Engineering Geologist of Sacremento; and Dr. Hugo Benioff, Professor of Seismology at California Insti-1 tute of Technology, Pasadena.

These experts have concluded that the Bodega Head site is suitable for the proposed reactor.

They advise us that the plant can be built safely and reliably by the application of sound seismic, civil and structural design in view of known geological and seismological considerations.

These conclusions are concurred in by a fourth consultant, Dr. George W. Housner, Professor of Applied Mechanics and Civil Engineering, California Institute of Technology, and President of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute.
