1 PESONEN FIANS FOR BOOK ON BODEGA l
l H1 IUC l
David Pesonen disclosed on the Dave Miles radio show, K5F0, j
i March 21, 1963, that be.is planning to do a book on Bodega Bay and the plan of PG6dt to. construct a reactor there. Pesonen asserted it isould not be a penphlet, but a complete text cover-ing this "new force which is stalking society". He expects it to be a staaderd reference for other c-=ities faced with a move to construct a reactor in their midst.
Niles had led Pesonen through a discussion of his conservation interests and background earlier in the program. Pesonen explahied that his father sans a conservationist and that be
" grew up with a conservation appreciation". Miles kept the interview ausy from the Bodega issue until the end of this program, allowing it to be brought in response to a question on whether Pesonen had any plans for writing a book.
Pesonen said that his book isould go into detail en how private utilities, such as PG&E, comid move into places like Bodega Road.
He ap arted that PG6E and its reactor is the hub of a new force nich is stalking society despite the latter's wishes. He implied that this force is aided by governmental self-interests. Miles, apparently not wanting to delve into the issues, skilfully led
.i Pesonen away from the book content with three or four quick l
questions on markating of the book. However, in.his closing i
remarks', ha indicated the interview (taped) had been the ' third with Pesonen on conservation and Bodega.
