POST-FIRE SAFE SHUTDOW INSPECTION The purpo:e of this memorandum it. to inform you that Region I has completed an initial round of val'dation inspections for post-fire safe shutdown at all Region I reactor far.ilities (Operating Reactors and NTOLs) in accordance with T1-2515/62 and IP 65100.

For those plants where significant problems were encountered during the initial validation inspection phase and/or an escalated en'orcement action is taken (Vermont Yankee, Salem 1 & 2, Susquehanna 1 & 2, peach Bottom 2 & !), we have a definite plan for reinspection in the FY 1988.

Once the above reinspection phase is completed, we hope to embark on the new triennial reverification phase for all operating reactors, in accordance with the proposed inspection procedure IP 64150.

t As in the past, we will need the continued support of NRR and/or consultant personnel to complete the reinspection and reverification phases of this inspection program.
