Gentlemen:
Enclosed are six (6) copies of the Equipment Qualification Report which describes the Beaver Valley Power Station - Unit 2 (BVPS-2) environmental qualification program for electrical equipment important to safety.
The Equipment Qualification Report was initially submitted to the NRC on June 22, 1984 as a separate submittal from the FSAR and in response to FSAR Questions 270.2 and 270.3. The Equipment Qualification Report -is comprised of two parts:
- 1) environmental qualification of electrical equipment important to safety (Enclosed) and 2) environmental qualification of safety related mechanical equipment (to be resubmitted at time of audit). entitled " List of Specifications for Enviromiental Qualification Review" contains the status of EQ packages for NRC audit.
Of the total 126 EQ packages, 88 of these packages contain equipment located in harsh area environments. identifies 76 of tituse harsh area packages as finalized and approved by DLC for NRC au.iit.
The ranaining packages are in various states of completion, but are not yet considered totally acceptable by DLC.
Volumes 1A, 18 and 1C of this Report contain the System Component Evaluation Worksheets (SCEWs) and associated notes for all equipment associated with the 76 packages statused as audit ready.
Twelve of these packages have not yet been clerically finalized and therefore the SCEWs hav e been st amped preliminary.
The SCEWs to these 12 packages will be resubmitted to the NRC prior to the audit. The SCEWs serve only as a summary of the EQ documentation and, in some cases, the entire documentation is needed to fully understand the contents of a SCEWs.

Denton, Director Equipment Qualification Report Page 2 Appendix A to this report is the Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation (SWEC) Project Manual 2BVM-119; Environmental Conditions for Class 1E Equipment Qualification Requirements, Revision 8 (current revision).
The majority of. SCEWs provided in this report have been finalized to 2BVM-119 Revision 7.
The differences between Revision 7 and Revision 8 are minor and h ave not compromised the demonstration of adequate qualification.
Addi tionally, Figure I.a, Containment Temperature Envelope for Equipment Qualification MSLB & LOCA (Attachment 2) is provided to demonstrate the actual peak temperature requirement reflected in the attached SCEWs.
2BVM-119 will be updated by audit to include the revised Figure I.a.
In support of the NRC Audit, a representative saple of the equipment will be installed and available for NRC inspection.
BVPS-2 is presently 95%
complete and is scheduled for receipt of a low power operating license by April 30, 1987. A verification progra is underway to assure the installed condition agrees with the qualified condition. This effort is being performed concurrent with the system turnover schedule.
DLC will have available, as a minimum, a representative sample of all equipment associated with the 76 packages approved for audit.
A listing of installed equipment will be provided prior to the audit for the NRC to make their selections for audit.
DLC is prepared and ready to support an NRC Audit of the BVPS-2 Environmental Qualification Program for electrical equipment important to safety as early as June 30, 1986.
With the submittal of this Report, DLC requests a pre-meeting with the NRC the week of June 9,1986, to discuss any initial comments the NRC might have concerning the attached submittal and a schedule for conducting the NRC Audit.
