APPLICATION FOR THE MODEL NO. HI-STORM FW STORAGE SYSTEM, AMENDMENT NO. 6 - ACCEPTED FOR REVIEW (EPID L-2019-LLA-0231)

Dear Mr. OMullane:

By letter dated October 2, 2019 [Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML19282C357], and as supplemented on June 30, 2020 (ADAMS Package Accession No. ML20182A860), Holtec International (the applicant) requested to amend Certificate of Compliance No. 1032, Model No. HI-STORM FW Storage System. The staff performed an acceptance review of your application to determine if the application contains sufficient technical information in scope and depth to allow the staff to complete a detailed technical review. With the information supplied on June 30, 2020, the application appears to contain the information needed for our technical review.

We have established a schedule for the review and estimated that the staff may need approximately 850 hours0.00984 days <br />0.236 hours <br />0.00141 weeks <br />3.23425e-4 months <br /> to complete its review. The schedule allows for the staff to issue the first request for additional information (RAI) in September 2020 and, if a second RAI is not needed, a draft certificate of compliance and safety evaluation report for rulemaking by December 2020, based on you responding to the first RAI in October 2020. In general, no additional changes to the application should be submitted except for changes resulting from your response to a RAI.
