i The following items of information from the meeting are of particular interest f

1.

On July 25 BECo had announced a decision by its Poard of Directors to keen Pilgrim out of service in order to complete Aprendix R fire protectinn mndifications, refueling, and containment enhancement measures. BEco indicated at the meeting that restart is likely in i

February 1987, but it en91d be as late as May 1987.

j 2.

The containr'ent measures will relate to improvements in hydrogen control, venting and spray. The fire pump may be connected to the spray system.

3.

An extensive startuo procram of several weeks is planned and there will l

be "hold pnints" during the startup, which will allow REco and Region I I

]

to review the plant status before the startup continues.

In response to IE Infortnation Notice 86-39. BEco has examined two RHR pumps i

and will examine two more. To date, no wear rinos defects have been detected visually but one bearing exhibited waar. A lower impeller wear ring has been sent out for further examination.
