This test is conducted in two parts at the conclusion of Special Test 88-06. Part 1 vill setup all the required prerequisites to support Load Acceptance Test-including initial valve time tests on Loop I and II RHR Test Return Valves. Part 2 vill perform Load Acceptance test on B Diesel Generator with preselected loads.
Preselected loads vill be determined ;
by RTP and DRE to best follov' the loading sequence from the Bechtel' Load j study.
Subject loads vill be documented within procedural steps and tables with appropriate verification, Upon test completion , complete l restor'ation vill be provided to allow operation to restore plant to normal as' required by operations or plant status, i Page 5 of 114 RPJ1 N

TITLE: DIESEL GENERATOR 3 EMIRGENC'? LOAD ACCEPTANCE TEST REV 0000 CLASS: SAFETY RELATED SPECIAL TEST 88-17 4.0 PoECAUTIONS AND LIMITATIO![S 4.1 Standard precautions for working around energi:ed electrical equipment shall be followed.
4.2 If maintenance other than what is provided in this Special Test becomes necessary, a Maintenance Request shall be generated.
4.3 Mechanical Maintenance personnel vill be required to support perfor=ance of this Special Test. Prior to test start they vill
~
manually roll the diesel engine one complete revolution with cylinder test valves open to eject excessive amcunts of water or fuel oil that may have accu =ulated in the cylinders.
4.4 DPSO personnel vill be required to support performance of this Special Test.
4.5 Any test deficiency identified which is not correcte( ! the performance of this instruction shall be documented and dispositioned as required by PMI-17.1, Conduct of Testing.
4.6 Fast starts of the Diesel Generator after any shutdown must be acco=plished within fifteen (15) minutes or wait three (3) hours after shutdown.
4.7 (LER BFRO) EXTRIMI CAUTION should be taken when installing and
- removing ju=pers and insulating boots. Any inadvertent movement a' t I the other contacts can automatically start the diesel generators and othet critical systems. Only BEN =anufactured HTA relay boots )

on minimum flow. l 4.9 Do not exceed Core Spray Pump motor full load rating of 80 amps (steady state).
4.10 Normal RHR flow is 9000 GPM. Minimum flow valve FCV-74-30 vill open on flov less than or equal to 3500 GPM. Lov flow operation should be minimi:ed because of excessive system vibration during low flow operation.
4.11 Do not exceed RHR Pump ' motor full load rating of 255 amps (steady state). .

l TITLE: DIESEL GENERATOR B EMERGENCY LOAD ACCEPTANCE TEST HEV 0000 CLASS: SAFETY RELATED SPECIAL TEST 33-17 4.12 Off Gas Stack Dilution fans =ust be operating when performing this test.
4.13 The Stack Fan Monitoring System must be operating when performing this test.
4.14 Perfor=ance of this test will de-energi:e the normal power source for Unit 2 RPS Bus A which may cause a half scram. If a half scram occurs it must be reset as soon as possible.
4.15 Performance of this test will de-energi:e I&C Bus A each time 480V Shutdown Board 2A de-energi:es. When this occurs Unit 2 Panel 9-9 normal supply vill be de-energi:ed and Panel 9-9 vill auto transfer to its alternate supply and Panel 25-323, 24V Battery Chargers Al-1 and A2-1, VHF Radio, Firt Protection Supervised and Unsupervised, and Fire Protection System 24V Battery Charger will be de-energi:ed. Upon restoration of power to 480V Shutdown Board 2A I&C Bus A vill be re-energized and Panel 9-9 vill auto transfer to its normal source and the other loads will be re-energi:ed.

The purpcse of this memo is to transmit the preliminary results of our calculations performed i n re.cponse to the referenced CIR.
Calculation MD-02074-98091 for the Residual Heat Removal (RHR) pump !
and calculation MD-02075-890SO fer the Core Spray (CS) pump ficu/ !
brake horse cwer transients have been prepared and checked. !
Presently, ccmments made by the independent, reviewer are being '
inocepcrated in the calculations. The attached curves reflect the independent reviewer's comments.
Although the calculations which devoicped these curves have been prepared. checked and independently reviewed, the calculations will not be issued until the reviewer endorses the resolution of his comments. Our ccnfidence in these results is high considering the extent and nature of the comments. We expect to issue the calculations en Friday, April 15, 1988 and we will provide a QIR to fermally ransmit this information to you at that' time. The final curves to be released by OIR are not expected to be significantly different from the attached curves.
