SUBJECT:

HATERIAL ACCESS AUTHORIZATICH ACKN00LEDGt1ENT Under the NRC !!aterial Access Authorization Program (NAAP), the Division of Security will soon be processing licensee employees for access authorizations (10CFR11). The existing NRC Fom 176, " Security Acknowledgment" (copy enclosed) adequately covers all aspects regarding classified information, but does not address special nuclear material. The programs (classified infor-

.( . mation/special nuclear material) and considerations are different enough to warrant different acknowledgment foms rather than revisions to Fom 176.

A proposed Itaterial Access Authorization Acknowledgment fom, a completed NRC Fom 160 and a portion of 10 CFR Fart 11 requesting a " security" acknow-ledgment fom are enclosed. The action necessary to change 511.15 (b)(4) to " material access authorization acknowledgment fom" will be pursued by this Division. A Privacy Act Statement was deemed unnecessary for NRC Fom 176. The same should be true for this proposed form.

It is requested that the proposed ttaterial Access Authorization Acknowledgment be developed as an NRC fom. If you have any questions regarding this material, feel free to contact Richard Dopp, x74549.
