By letter dated February 18, 1997, Duke Power Company (DPC) submitted a l

revision to several Catawba Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures (EPIPs).

Some of the revised EPIPs were identified by DPC as containing privacy information (i.e., home phone numbers):

RP/0/A/5000/04 Enclosure 4.1, Page 2 of 2 j RP/0/A/5000/23 Enclosure 4.4 Accordingly, DPC marked the privacy information in their submittal and requested that this information be withheld from public disclosure. We have reviewed DPC's submittal based on the requirements and criteria of 10 CFR 2.790 and have determined that the submitted information contains privacy information. Therefore, the privacy information so identified by DPC will be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790(a)(6) and Section 103(b) of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.

Withholding information from public disclosure shall not affect the right, if l any, of persons properly and directly concerned to inspect the documents. If the need arises, we may send copies of the information to our consultants working in this area. We will, of course, ensure that the consultants have signed.the appropriate agreements for handling proprietary information.
