Dear Mr. McCollum:

By "05000414/LER-1997-001, :on 970103,maint Found Nitrogen Supply Isolation Valves for Power Operated Relief Valve (PORV) 2SV-1 Closed.Caused by Poor Work Practices.[[Atomic Element" contains a listed "[" character as part of the property label and has therefore been classified as invalid. Isolation Valves for 2SV-1 & 2SV-13 Opened|letter dated February 3, 1997]], Duke Power Company (DPC) submitted a revision to several Catawba Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures (EPIPs).

Some of the revised EPIPs were identified by DPC as containing privacy information (i.e., home phon numbers):

We have reviewed DPC's submittal based on the requirements and criteria of 10 CFR 2.790 and have determined that the submitted information contains privacy information.

Therefore, the privacy information so identified by DPC will be withheld fro'n public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790(a)(6) and Section 103(b) of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.

Withholding information from public disclosure shall not affect the right, if any, of persons properly and directly concerned to inspect the documents.

If the need arises, we may send copies of the information to our consultants working in this area. We will, of course, ensure that the consultants have signed the appropriate agreements for handling proprietary information.

If the basis for withholding this information from public inspection should change in the future, such that the information could then be made available for public inspection, you should promptly notify the NRC.
