DOCKET NO. 50-130 NORTHERN STATES POWER COMPANY NCTTICE OF ISSUANCE OF FACILITY LICENSE AENDENT Please take notice that the Atomic Energy Commission has issued, effective as of the date of issuance, Amendment No.1, set forth below, to Facility License No. DPR-11. The license authorizes Northem States Power Company ("the licensee") to operate its nuclear reactor located near Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The amendment, in accordance with the application for license amendment dated July 13, 1964, increases from 128 i
grams to 224 grams the quantity of plutonium encapsulated as two 1-curie and two 6-curie plutonium-beryllium neutron sources which the licensee i
is authorized to receive, possess and use in conjunction with operation of the reactor.
The Comission has found that:
(1) Operation of the reactor in accordance with the license, as amended, will not present undue hazard to the health and safety of the public and will not be inimical to the common defense and security; (2) The application for amendment complies with requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, and the Commission's regulations set forth in Title 10, Chapter 1, CFR; (3) Referral of the application to the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards and prior public notice of proposed issuance of this amendment is not necessary since no significant hazard consideration is presented by this amendment.
